Position: We are seeking a licensed, certified occupational therapist who will provide occupational therapy for those of all ages in the Autism and Developmental/ Intellectual Disabilities communities. The occupational therapist works as part of an interdisciplinary team to foster people’s skill development to achieve their personal dreams and goals. Our occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and students also collaborate as a group and learn from each other. Occupational therapists will administer comprehensive occupational therapy to people utilizing the assistance and providing clinical supervision to licensed, certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (up to three). Occupational therapists will perform the initial evaluation of people supported and create an individualized Plan of Care designed to address people across the lifespan in order to encourage and enable participation in activities that they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Also, the Occupational therapist is responsible for participating in student internship program; continuing professional education studies, attending all mandatory department meetings and in-service programs, maintaining professional and educational requirements, follows all established organization and department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assessments.
Schedule: This is a part-time position. Three days per week are held in clinic space in Fishers, IN facility.
Requirements
Holds at least a master’s degree from an ACOTE accredited Occupational Therapy program, maintain a certification through the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT), and maintain a license to practice occupational therapy in Indiana. Occupational therapists must also have prior experience working with people with developmental disabilities (in any setting). Be able to legally work in the United States, have a properly maintained vehicle with appropriate insurance, be able to lift up to 50 lbs., be able to walk, bend, squat, turn in the knees, back, wrist and shoulders and grasp with both hands (to properly administer CPR and other personal care/lifting techniques), be able to competently administer CPR/First Aid, and demonstrate proof of a negative TB screening.
