Fraser is seeking a Controller who is responsible for the management, supervision, and coordination of the Accounting Department, ensuring a customer service focus responsive to the management and organization’s needs for timely, useful, accurate financial data, and for the management and protection of the organization’s financial assets.
Accounting Group Management:
- Provide leadership and support in the completion of all accounting functions of the organization, including billing, accounts receivable / cash, accounts payable, general ledger and client accounting.
- Manage the purchase and operation of accounting and related software. Assist with integration of software within other divisions that affect the accounting department.
Accounting Responsibilities:
- Manage banking and cash management activities including account selection and balances, transaction review, fraud prevention and borrowing requirements, in consultation with the CFO.
- Oversee / prepare general ledger and related activity to ensure accounting information is accumulated and reported in an accurate and timely manner. Provide financial analysis, reconciliation, and review.
- Assure financial statements are consistent with federal, state and county reporting requirements affecting each division and with accepted accounting practices (GAAP), nonprofit law, and organizational policy.
- Oversee / prepare departmental financial reports, including graphic and narrative information. Meet with department directors as needed to analyze and explain financial data and statistics so the current financial impact of operations can be effectively monitored, and the organization remains on budget. Assist in preparing regular re-forecasts.
- Assist in preparing regular re-forecasts.
- Manage grant and designated funds usage for agency financials in partnership with the VP of Development and Program Leadership
- Make recommendations to the CFO and develop new and updated organizational finance and accounting policies, procedures, and services that will guide staff in achieving organizational goals and that are consistent with public practice and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
- AA/AS or BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
- Generally, 10 years of experience in public accounting or prior experience supervising an accounting department or other accounting professionals required.

- This position is hybrid work model / Bloomington, MN
- This is a full-time, benefit eligible position working standard business hours Monday through Friday.
