Conference & Events Manager

OPSWAT
Tampa, FL Full Time
POSTED ON 3/7/2022 CLOSED ON 5/30/2022

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Conference & Events Manager position at OPSWAT?

The Position

OPSWAT is looking for a Conference & Events Manager based out of our Tampa office to manage global conferences and events. The role is responsible for defining the strategy and the execution of OPSWAT events to generate quality leads for the OPSWAT sales team. You will work closely with regional sales leaders, marketing, and their strategic partners to promote brand awareness, generate sales opportunities, and track and report results. This includes managing OPSWAT-hosted seminars, webinars, partner events, industry trade shows, sponsored conferences, and internal events in the United States and abroad.

The successful candidate must be able to drive multiple projects, anticipate project needs, identify work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision. As the Conference & Events Manager, they will be expected to demonstrate extreme attention to detail, superb communication skills, have a 'can-do' attitude, and be capable of creative problem-solving.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Up to 60% of your time will be spent traveling throughout the U.S., EMEA and APAC regions owning and managing logistics, timelines, production, budget and post-event reporting and evaluations of all events
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop plans that produce quality leads while optimizing ROI
  • Develop and implement an ongoing and effective tradeshow and events calendar/schedule by identifying event opportunities.
  • Work with various departments (executive staff, sales, product management, product marketing, etc.) to recruit, prepare, and support thought leadership opportunities (speaking engagements) at events and conferences.
  • Meticulously maintain the events calendar for internal customers access to event planning details.
  • Establishing and implementing standards of protocol to ensure OPSWAT’s brand presence is executed to its fullest in every program from design, staffing, messaging, etc.
  • Work with Corporate Communications to ensure alignment and execution in parallel with the corporate PR strategy and AR plans.
  • Manage planning and logistics for various end-user and partner-facing event types: 10 x 10, tabletop, lunch-and-learn, etc., including pre/post-show documentation and communication.
  • Manage and maintain the OPSWAT traveling cyber truck and demo center schedule and promotions.

What We Need from You

  • Understand how to stand out in an extremely crowded and noisy market
  • Ability to think cleverly about how to build a strategic and holistic presence at events and regional programs – it’s well beyond just setting up a booth or a tabletop and we don’t just do something ‘because it’s best practice’ or ‘we’ve always done it that way’
  • The belief that every program and budget dollar has a purpose and can be measurably tied back to value to the business
  • Ability to build a strategic plan and clearly tie program execution up to the strategy. Be a true partner to the sales team, providing marketing expertise to help them achieve their revenue goals versus administrative sales support
  • Act as a natural storyteller who enjoys building enthusiasm, loyalty, and advocacy with our customers and partners
  • Serve as a problem solver: you are in the trenches alongside our customers helping them solve some of the hardest challenges they will face in their careers
  • Have a metrics-driven passion, the know-how to build programs, and tie them back to pipeline development goals
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and desire to work and win with a team of smart, hardworking and nice people

It Would Be Nice If You Had

  • 5 years of previous marketing or event planning experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related subject, or commensurate experience
  • Strong passion for excellence and a high level of initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • ‪Professional business presence and acumen
  • ‪Strong ability to multi-task with a results-oriented mindset
  • Experience with lead collection at trade shows
  • Negotiation skills
