Activities Assistant
Location: Three Rivers - 517 Erie Street S., Three Rivers, MI, 49093
Job Summary
The Activities Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, and implementation of recreational and social activities for residents in a senior living community. The Activities Assistant will work closely with the Activities Director to ensure that all activities are engaging, safe, and appropriate for the residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing recreational and social activities for residents
- Encourage resident participation in activities and events
- Assist in setting up and cleaning up after activities
- Transport residents to and from activities as needed
- Assist in maintaining activity supplies and equipment
- Assist in creating and distributing activity calendars and flyers
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and their families
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean activity area
- Other duties as assigned by the Activities Director
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in Recreational therapy would be a big plus
- Prior experience working with seniors preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Working Conditions
The Activities Assistant will work primarily indoors in a senior living community. The position may require occasional evening and weekend work to accommodate resident schedules and activities.
