Description:
The Chemist will perform liquid chromatograph analysis (carbonyl analysis from vehicle exhaust) and perform gas chromatograph analysis (hydrocarbon speciation, fuel dilution in engine oil, etc.).
The Chemists responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducting various fuel analysis (fuel composition, heating value, distillation points).
- Managing fuel inventory and fuel ordering.
- Perform maintenance and calibration on various instruments (all kinds of instruments in emissions lab, not limited to chemical instruments).
- Support testing operation and trouble shoot instrument problems.
- Develop new chemical analysis when there are new emissions testing needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry.
- Minimum three years' lab experience.
- General understanding of vehicle powertrain and exhaust after treatment.
- Experience with vehicle emissions testing and with conventional emission analyzers (HC, CO, CO2, NOx and CH4).
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Dedicated and well organized.
- Master's degree in chemistry is preferred.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
