Controller
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our rapidly-growing team. The Controller supports the entire accounting function and financial reporting for all locations, and also has strong knowledge of the tilting, service, and sales process. This position will work closely with management and other departments to help ensure harmonious and productive operations, which will help maximize the success of the dealerships.
Responsibilities:
- Financial statements preparation, interpretation, and analysis. Communication key financial data to key stakeholders (internal and external)
- Keep the General Manager informed on the trends and cash needs of the business
- Manage the day to day accounting operations of the store to ensure that all transactions are recorded in compliance with dealership accounting processes and policies
- Take ownership of the month-end closing, and delegate tasks to accounting staff as appropriate
- Manage and safeguard the stores assets and ensure that internal controls are in place
- Assist department managers in reading and interpreting their financial reports and in creating action plans needed to improve their operation
- Respond to request for information and assistance in a timely manner
- Work with General Manager to improve revenue or reduce expense in order to meet or exceed budget and grow the business
- Collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization in order to achieve high level and day to day objectives
- Manage the workflow around the title process for all RV sales
- Work with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements
- Travel to other store locations as needed
- Make recommendations to improve existing processes and implement as directed
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year degree at an accredited university with a focus on accounting
- At least 5 years of experience in managing an accounting department in a dealership environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (preferably Motility)
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create and manage complex shared spreadsheets and train others to do so
- Working knowledge of dealership financial statements
- CPA designation is an asset but not required
