What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead RN, Urology position at Optum?
**This position is eligible for a $7,500.00 sign on bonus.**
Assist the site Practice Manager with day-to-day oversight of direct and indirect patient care activities, providing necessary support to the physician and other department staff within established guidelines and protocols. Provides quality patient care by assuring a smooth work and patient flow within the department. Acts as liaison between patient/physician and other departments.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Understands expectations of site leadership and is involved as part of the site leadership team
Daily rounding with all staff and providers
Serves as a liaison and resource for all staff and providers
Assists with daily DMS including huddles, metrics and soliciting feedback for issues requiring escalation
Supports and advocates for implementation of new processes, clarifying questions from team members and advocating team concerns back to site leadership in a timely manner
Proactively seeks team feedback about ongoing TPC projects and/or initiatives
Understands, role models, and audits standard work, policies, protocols, and guidelines Assists with training schedules for new RN's and MA's and provides random chart audits to ensure quality assurance for first 3 month's
Review RN and MA checklist that all items have been reviewed and completed prior to working without preceptor
Ensure checklists are reviewed and turned in to Practice Manager
Assists with reviewing all new MA's appropriate medication and administration-sign off
Provides feedback for RN and MA performance reviews
Relaying clinic updates, system, site changes
Coaching/training RN and MA teammates
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Noted below are the essential responsibilities the job holder must be able to perform satisfactorily to do this job successfully. Note that these requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job.
Knowledge of professional theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of and the ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Knowledge and ability to teach and apply current theories, Techniques and practice.
Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and Techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient care. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Skill in maintaining electronic medical records and recording test results. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians advanced care practitioners and the public. Critical thinking skills.
Ability to maintain quality control standards. Demonstrates an ability to clearly communicate (verbal and written). Professional appearance and interacts with others in a caring, respectful manner. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Education: BS or AA degree in Nursing
Experience: 2-3 years related experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience desirable. Familiarity with the department and its operations preferred.
Certificate/License:
Current Washington State RN License
Current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification required.
