JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME
- Will perform repairs to equipment inventories, including but not limited to, extension cords, signal cables, feeder cable, lighting fixtures, theatrical rigging equipment, loud speakers, control consoles, amplifiers, routers, electrical distribution.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License and have an excellent driving record for purpose of operating university vehicles.
- Possesses equipment operator certifications for forklifts, man lifts, scissor lifts and pallet lifts; or, agrees to training by employer that will certify employee for these devices.
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred experience is as follows:
- Previous experience in technical theater production and / or audio-visual production.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operation of complex theatrical production equipment, including computerized winch control systems, counter-weighted theatrical fly systems, or working knowledge of same; computerized lighting control systems, spotlights, electronic scoreboards, public address systems and complimentary equipment necessary for all of the above.
- Must have suitable interpersonal communication skills, verbal, written and telephonic. Is competent to operate desktop and computer equipment with customary applications for word processing, email, web browsing, etc.
- Must not be afraid of heights nor working at heights on ladders, telescoping personnel lifts, scissor lifts, elevated stages and platforms, and catwalks.
NOTES:
Physical and environment demands include, but are not limited to, the following: Sitting, ,standing, stopping, walking, crawling, kneeling, pushing and pulling of equipment, twisting of upper body, reaching, repetitive motion, high manual dexterity, climbing hand over hand and frequent heavy lifting and carrying equipment over 51 pounds. Will be working with and around electrical equipment in a high noise environment with compromised lighting levels. Must be able to work in environments with strobing lights of varying flash frequencies.
