Position Summary
CAD Checker & Illustrator with a passion for product design and development and a proven track record of CAD design, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, and assembly/service manual creation. This position will be an instrumental member of the design engineering team to implement GD&T consistently and ensure manufacturing feasibility processes.
Position Responsibilities
You will help distinguish our company with expertise, integrity, and professionalism to create products that exceed customer expectations. Among the responsibilities of the role are:
- Review and Recommend changes in designs to achieve company standards
- Review and update GD&T call-out to ensure consistency and feasibility
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards
- Update assembly and service manuals as designs are updated
- Hands-on collaboration with product design engineers, supplier partners, and quality engineers
Position Qualifications
- Associates Degree Required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Minimum 10 years in CAD design
- Minimum 3 years in a Checker role
- Strong experience with Autodesk Inventor Preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong project management skills, with excellent follow-up skills
- Problem solver – adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Detailed-orientated
- Strategic thinker
- Experience working in Manufacturing and/or Distribution industries preferred. Knowledge and/or experience in the vehicle industry a plus.
Ideal Candidates Will Also Have
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working in Complex Product Development
- Knowledge and/or experience in the vehicle industry a plus
