STUDENT INTERN
Orbion Space Technology is seeking extraordinary students to join us for an engineering internship located in Houghton, MI for the summer of 2023 and the 2023-2024 school year. As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and other employees who will help you apply your knowledge and grow your skills on projects that have a significant impact. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with a team of engineers to define requirements, design products, test, and implement solutions.
- Evaluate and analyze data, conduct experiments, develop models and simulations and document processes and results.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be currently enrolled at a college or university and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an aerospace, engineering, physics, or math discipline.
- Junior (entering third year) or senior (entering fourth year) standing at time of hire
- 3 months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory or personal or team project experience is applicable).
- Ability to communicate effectively and work together with other team members to creatively solve problems.
- Ability to focus on details and manage multiple assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- GPA of 3.5 or above.
- 6 months’ experience applying technical skills outside of the classroom (examples: laboratory, research, extracurricular project teams, volunteering, personal projects, or prior internship/work experience).
