Summary/objective
Under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy, the Physical Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers and directs Physical Therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, regulations and guidelines in both an outpatient and in-patient setting. Ensures the highest degree of quality of care is rendered at all times.
Pay: $60.00 - $72.00
Essential functions
Provides physical therapy services to patients according to a written individualized plan of care. Initiates the physical therapy plan and instructs other personnel/caregivers/patients/family in certain phases of physical therapy. Ability to instruct patients in the use of prosthetic devices. Prepares and submits clinical and progress notes/summaries. Participates in the discharge planning process and interdisciplinary groups. Monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Ensures documentation is completed in a timely manner.

- Skilled at developing and maintaining a positive working rapport with rehab department personnel, as well as other interdisciplinary departments.
- Ability to apply diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.
- Demonstrates a professional manner in all work setting at all times.
Supervisory responsibilities
May direct and supervise the patient care activities of PT assistants, PT aides and volunteer workers.
Work environment
Most of the work will be done indoors in a therapy setting. Occasional outdoor activities or therapy may be needed.
Physical demands
- Able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift 50lbs with some bending and squatting to assist patients.
Travel required
Occasional travel for offsite meetings, conferences, and outreach
Required education and experience
- Degree from a CAPTE (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education accredited college or university
- Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, biology, or related field
- Current license with the California Physical Therapy Board
- Current BLS certificate
Preferred education and experience
- Master’s degree in physical therapy, biology, or related field preferred
