Summary/objective
The Physical Therapy Manager directs and oversees the programs and staff of the physical, occupational and speech therapy division in both an outpatient and in-patient setting.
Salary Range $150,000 - $180,000 DOE
Essential functions
Ability to direct a team of physical, occupational and speech therapists while managing the demands of providing patient care. Evaluates current physical therapy programs and research potential new and/or revised therapy programs to improve the quality of patient care. The manager develops and implements therapy policies, objectives, and initiatives. Reviews operational procedures to ensure standards meet regulatory compliance and follow industry best practices. Sets and implements guidelines for therapy programs. Monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Ensures documentation is completed in a timely manner.

Supervisory responsibilities
Develop and manage staff through hiring, on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities, disciplinary action, and performance management processes. Build and maintain employee morale and motivation and ensure the team is appropriately staffed and meets required competencies.
Work environment
Most of the work will be done indoors in a therapy setting. Occasional outdoor activities or therapy may be needed.
Physical demands
- Able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift 50lbs with some bending and squatting to assist patients.
Travel required
Occasional travel for offsite meetings, conferences, and outreach
Required education and experience
- Degree from a CAPTE (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education accredited college or university
- Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, biology, or related field
- Current license with the California Physical Therapy Board
- Current BLS certificate
Preferred education and experience
- Master’s degree in physical therapy, biology, or related field preferred
