Legal Assistant
Portland Estate Planning & Elder Law firm seeks a full-time legal assistant to join our small team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and be able to prioritize a fast-paced caseload and work autonomously.
The successful candidate must possess a strong work ethic and be able to consistently produce high quality work in response to tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness and ability to learn new systems is a must.
Primary Duties: initiate and manage guardianship/conservatorship and probate proceedings; provide support for estate planning cases and manage trust administration matters; maintain case files; respond to client requests and maintain regular communication with clients regarding case matters; maintain case calendaring system; and, contribute to the smooth operation of the firm.
Required Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in estate planning and estate administration and/or guardianships and conservatorships.
Position includes a competitive benefit package, including health insurance and 401k plan. Salary is dependent on experience.
