Function/Duties of Position
CPS includes researchers interested in studying genetics, behaviors, and exposures at a population level that increase the risk of developing cancer and conduct cancer prevention and control intervention studies with individuals, communities, healthcare systems, and populations. CPS researchers collaborate with basic, clinical, and population health researchers. Co-location with other sections in DOS fosters dynamic collaborations. At the same time, shared resources across the KCI, CTSA, and OHSU provide abundant access to state-of-the-art tools, approaches, and cohorts for innovative science. We are particularly interested in adding faculty with expertise in epidemiology, genetics, behavioral science, implementation science, and community-engaged research. Exciting research areas rich for collaboration include cancer and aging, cancer and the microbiome, cancer symptom science, digital technology, and eHealth. Research experience with underserved populations, particularly Hispanic/Latino or American Indian/Alaska Native, is desirable. Previous experience and/or leadership within an NCI designated cancer center is also desired.
To qualify for this role, you must have a PhD or MD/PhD. At the Assistant Professor level, you must have relevant postdoctoral research experience and a strong record of research accomplishments that include publications in high-quality journals. At the Associate or Professor level, you must have an established and funded research program and demonstrated ability to mentor others.
