Department Overview

Columbia Memorial Hospital (CMH) in collaboration with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is searching for board-certified/board-eligible, fellowship trained, MQSA certified Radiologists join our Diagnostic Radiology Department in Astoria, Oregon. CMH is expanding our collaboration with OHSU by offering Clinical Associate positions with the academic medical center which provides the opportunity to practice general radiology in our small community hospital on the northern Oregon coast. As a general radiologist in Astoria your clinical responsibilities will include all modalities, interventional procedures, and PET CT. CMH utilizes Powerscribe 360 and Phillips iSite for their PACS system, Phillips for the US and interventional equipment. In addition, the hospital has a Genius 3D Mammography exam with the SmartCurve and 2 Siemens MRI scanners; a 3.0 Tesla Trio and 1.5 Tesla of Avanto. Function/Duties of Position

Administration:

Administrative and other duties may be assigned based on division and department needs and your areas of expertise and interest, while recognizing the clinical demands of working in the Community Division.

Clinical:

You will primarily work as a general radiologist within the Community Division and you will be expected to take your fair share of call, as assigned, with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays for the Community Division. These duties will essentially continue the daytime and out-of-hours coverage currently provided by the private practice group of radiologists at Columbia Memorial Hospital. 

 

Education:

OHSU is a teaching facility and while you will not have direct responsibilities teaching medical students and residents in the clinical setting there may be occasional opportunities to give lectures during the course of the year and participate in resident conferences. Opportunities for medical student, resident, or fellow education may be future possibilities. 

Research:

There may be opportunities to collaborate with other department faculty on research projects that may be of interest, although such activities are not expected of Clinical Associates and are voluntary.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent
  • Immediate post-residency
  • Medical Staff Office Credentialing for Core Radiology Privileges and Supplemental Privileges as necessary
  • Oregon Medical Board Unlimited Faculty License, American Board of Radiology Certification

Additional Details

Candidates must be ABR board certifying eligible after passing the ABR Core Exam and successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency. International Medical Graduates are eligible for the position provided they have a valid ECFMG certificate, have completed an ACGME-accredited residency and ABR Core Exam, or are otherwise board-eligible through the ABR IMG Alternate Pathway program. Candidates at all levels of practice including those currently undertaking Fellowship training are encouraged to apply.
