University Human Resources is hiring two full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, academic wage hourly positions that will work with the Recruitment Team or the Classification and Compensation team. These positions are anticipated to last one year from the appointment date.

The Recruitment technician is responsible for performing Human Resources (HR) responsibilities related to recruitment and selection.
The Recruitment technician is responsible for assisting administrators and supervisors in achieving goals and outcomes in the areas of diversity, affirmative action and equal opportunity, and management of the University’s employee resource.
The Recruitment technician works independently under general guidance from the Recruitment Specialist or the Recruitment Supervisor
Position Duties
RECRUITMENT focus:
- Processes recruitment and selection activities for all job and position types: classified, unclassified (academic/research and professional faculty) and short-term appointments (temporary and academic wage)
- Initiates posting from approved position description in the Online Position Description and Recruiting System (PeopleAdmin)
- Completes appropriate position-related Banner entry
- Initiates Outside Temporary Agency Requests and Purchase Orders
CLASSIFICATION & COMPENSATION focus:
- Enters and updates position descriptions from an approved position description template in the Online Position Description and Recruiting System (PeopleAdmin).
- Assigns new position numbers as needed
- Attaches all supporting documentation to the position request.
- Completes supervisor updates, profile reassignments, title changes, or other actions as requested by the Classification and Compensation team.
Additional duties for both positions may include:
- Monitoring and Auditing
- Training and Professional Development
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum/Required Qualifications
Two years of human resources clerical support experience directly assisting human resources professionals in the administrative functions of a human resources program;
OR
Three years progressively responsible administrative, clerical or record-keeping support experience.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute to the success of team and department goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and resolve problems.
- Proven strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete projects under deadline pressure.
- User-level experience with the following software: Database and reporting tools; Windows-based software and Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
- This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU STANDARD 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Criminal History Check Requirement
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Experience performing duties in human resources in an institution of higher education, or comparable environment.
User-level experience with the following software, or comparable software: PeopleAdmin, Ellucian Higher Education Banner (HRIS module), Data Warehouse, and Microsoft Access.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Possibility of remote work will be considered and must be agreed upon between employee and supervisor.
Normal business operations are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
