Orly Khon Floral is a celebrated local business in Boston, specializing in luxury botanical design. The business includes a plant boutique inside the prestigious Restoration Hardware building in the center of Boston’s Back Bay, and a floral and plant shop at 401 Park Drive in Fenway. Behind the scenes, and operating out of our South End private studio, we service high end homes and businesses with excellent interior plant styling, consultation and design services, installations, and regularly scheduled plant maintenance services. In addition, the floral side of our studio produces high-end floral designs for weddings, events, home/office and businesses across Massachusetts. Our team is a tight-knit group of plant and floral lovers, who aren't afraid of rolling up their sleeves and getting dirty behind the scenes. (And having fun while doing it, of course!)

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable addition to our team, who moves seamlessly between the more polished, client-facing side of the role and the behind the scenes 'roll up your sleeves' side of the floral industry.

This role includes floral studio assistance, such as processing flowers, organizing vases, stocking the studio with supplies and general cleaning. As a small team we each take part in daily studio upkeep tasks and you will play a main role in regular studio upkeep.

In this position, you will handle delivery operations for day-to-day floral orders, taking prepared floral arrangements to commercial and residential clients. Some orders are regularly scheduled, but the overall daily tasks will vary day to day-- although the work schedule will remain consistent. This team member will report directly to the studio manager for assignments.

Our floral design studio operates on installations of event florals and plant projects. Opportunity for additional hours to take part in those installations if you are interested and based on applicable experience.

Requirements

• Valid driver's licensed and clean driving record required
• Our delivery locations are typically located in the city, so being comfortable with driving and parallel parking is necessary for this role (vehicle provided)

• Ability to lift 40 lbs
• Delivery or customer service experience required. Preference given to applicants with previous experience in delivering and handling perishable products, but not required.
• Effective time management
• Ability to follow direction and work within a team

Responsibilities

• Studio assistance; processing flowers, organizing vases, picking up product orders from floral vendors and retailers to supply our studio.
• Assisting in the general upkeep of the floral studio; to include but not limited to cleaning, taking out trash, breaking down cardboard boxes
• Installation assistance for floral events and plant projects, optional. Opportunity for additional hours to take part in those installations if you are interested and based on applicable experience.

• Package and load arrangements carefully and thoroughly so they arrive safely to their destination
• Drive safely and attentively at all times
• Deliver fresh floral arrangements to commercial clients and gift-recipients, offering excellent customer service to recipients
• Oversee company vehicle maintenance; fill the gas tank, maintain a clean interior, take it in for oil changes and regular maintenance as needed, bring any potential maintenance needs to the attention of the studio manager to schedule shop visits.
