Primary Purpose
The role involves overseeing the warehouse operations performance of the Medco Transportation division, ensuring a robust network strategy, tools, and site leadership for exceptional customer service. The Director must think strategically to enhance the DC's efficiency, comprehend current business KPIs, and aid in enhancing training and execution. Responsibilities cover facility budgets, operating costs, productivity, quality, and staffing. Additionally, the role entails managing and developing DC leadership, providing strategic direction, continuous process improvement, and boosting performance in various KPIs like safety, productivity, cost management, customer metrics, inventory turnover, and capacity.
Major Responsibilities
- Manage direction, leadership and ownership of results for multiple DC’s located across the United States (9). Ensuring we have engaged and capable leaders throughout the network.
- Work closely with Operations Support team and other internal resources to manage capital requirements and recommended automation, process improvement or tools to improve the workflow and efficiency of the network of DC’s.
- Works with Senior Operations / Finance team to drive accountability for results
- Ensure training and adherence to SOP’s
- Revise and Update processes with an eye towards Lean and Six-Sigma
- Understand how to use and teach root cause analysis
- Allocates and manages resources/roles based on Operation’s and budgetary targets and customer expectations.
- Drives positive associate relations
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives
- Drives a high performance organization through:
- Identifies key projects and initiatives
- Contributing to strategic direction through tactical implementation of key projects and initiatives in the facility
- Aligning the culture of the facility to the overall company strategy and structure
- Making fact based decisions by using data and analytical skills.
- Interacts with Sales and other functions to resolve customer issues and ensure profitability.
- Manages people, processes, budgets, performance management, compliance activities, and associate development as required by the job.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Business or Logistics required.
- Minimum 10 years of job related experience required.
- Experience managing a large scale, high volume distribution center.
- Experience managing multiple locations is preferred.
- Experience in wholesale business environment.
