GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The purpose of the Workers Compensation Liaison is to communicate necessary information from insurance companies? as well pre-certificating and obtaining approval for procedures on workers compensation patients. They facilitate between adjusters, nurse case managers, and medical providers ensuring timely and appropriate appointment scheduling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtain necessary records and information required for scheduling a workers compensation patient.
- Organize, invoice, and collect payment for depositions, IMEs, form completion, and second opinion visits.
- Provide office notes and other dictation to nurse case managers and adjusters.
- Obtain pre-certification for imaging, procedures, and surgeries as determined by individual carriers.
- Obtain and provide all necessary documentation to physicians to prepare for depositions, IMEs, form completion, and second opinion visits.
- Schedule and reschedule workers compensation appointments.
- Develop relationships with nurse case managers and adjusters.
- Market the OrthoArkansas workers compensation program through site visits, conferences, lunch and learns, etc.
- Coordinate with and educate physicians and staff on workers compensation patients.
- Assist workers compensation patients with information needed for appropriate and timely treatment.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
