Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES :
This position reports to the Central Billing Office Managers, and is primarily responsible for balancing all daily money from all office locations, along with preparation of the daily deposit.
Preparation of batches of insurance and patient checks for payment poster. Scans check batches into the File Magic system.
Updating the accounting database with daily deposit amounts.
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (no weekends)

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Balance and log in database all co-pays collected from all office locations within 24 hours of receipt.
- Keep a spreadsheet of all copays to identify if any are missing.
- Copy and balance checks and EOB's for the payment poster to post, within 24 hours from receipt of checks.
- Return checks to patients when balances are not owed within 72 hours of receipt.
- Balance all money from all areas for the daily deposit and prepare for the bank within 24 hours of receipt.
- Scan all checks and EOB's into a database for storage and reference.
- Update the daily spreadsheet for the controller of the daily deposit and credit card information
- Update and manage several spreadsheets to ensure CPS and banking #s match
- Organize and files co-pay receipts.
- Must be able to communicate thoroughly and effectively with the members of the Registration
- Department and Registration Manager regarding the balancing of individual batches.
- Perform other related duties that may be inclusive, but not listed in the job description

Qualifications
Education and Experience :
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in private practice required (3 years highly desirable)
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Pleasant personality and patience is required
- High degree of composure and interpersonal skills
- Bookkeeping / Banking experience a plus
- Previous experience in medical office setting and banking experience preferred
- Experience and familiarity with medical office billing policies and procedures
- Devoted to teamwork and portraying the company in a very positive manner
- Maintain proper, courteous, and helpful telephone etiquette
- Organized, accountable, self-motivated, and attentive to detail
- Excellent written, verbal , interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and accurately prioritize problems & initiatives
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
