Job Title: MRI Technologist
Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida has served the Fort Myers community for over 21 years. Our orthopedic surgeons are fellowship-trained in orthopedic care and sub-specialties. *Full time employees eligible. Insurance benefits eligible the first of the month after 60 days, PTO and Holiday pay after successfully completing 90 day introductory period, 401k after 1 year of service minimum worked 1,000 hours, enrollment either January or July Job Summary: Perform magnetic imaging in an office setting. This position will have unrestricted access to protected health information (PHI) pertaining to patients.
Essential Functions:
- Perform all magnetic imaging as ordered by a physician
- Properly assess the patient before imaging
- Review safety paperwork and explain testing to the patient
- Communicate between radiologist and doctor
- Transmit or print exams
- Properly complete encounter forms
- Schedule patients for examination using the computer
- Order supplies as required
- Clean and stock MRI department
- Adhere to all equipment standards and care
Core Competences:
- Responsible for promoting the Standards of Excellence for Orthopedic Specialists while demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior toward patients, visitors, volunteers, peers and physicians
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment, demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work during heavy workload situations to expedite patient care
- Maintain strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
- Work independently while understanding the need to communicate and coordinate work efforts with other employees and organizations
- Minimum of 3-5 years MRI experience
- Radiology license issued by the State of Florida
- Maintain active status with ARRT (American Registry of Radiological Technologist)
- Computer Literate - Windows environment
- Ability to perform essential duties
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to clearly communicate written and verbal instructions
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize
- Ability to demonstrate proper telephone etiquette
- CPR Certification
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology, equipment, procedures, instruments and common safety hazards and precautions
Essential Physical Functions:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients at times; Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
- Occasionally lifting, carrying supplies, squatting, and bending
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, calculator and other office equipment as necessary
- Ability to view computer screens for long periods of time
