Solar Site Environmental Health and Safety Technician

ORTIZ USA is excited to welcome a new Environmental Health and Safety Technician to our growing US solar construction team. This project is the first of many US projects for Ortiz's parent company Grupo Ortiz. Grupo Ortiz has more than 60 years of experience and a diversified business approach: Concessions, Energy, Infrastructure and Property. We are established in Spain, Colombia, Japan, Panama, and Mexico. We develop energy projects anywhere in the world. ROLE DEFINITION:

This is an entry level role will require someone who is dedicated to site safety with previous solar field instillation experience. This role is to support the site HSE Manager in the construction process to ensure safety regulations are followed and client expectations are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform OSHA compliance checks at location (job sites)
  • Assist in incident processes (accident investigation and medical transportation)
  • Assist and provide technical expertise with maintaining environmental compliance for Ortiz USA
  • Assist with creating and updating companies HSE policies and procedures
  • Assist with incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Perform other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of compliance and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • OSHA 30
  • Experience in the solar
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Detail orientated; well organized
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Able to interact effectively at all levels

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Industrial Solar: 3 years (Required)
  • Construction: 6 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • Spanish (Required)

License/Certification:

  • OSHA 30 (Required)

Work Location: One location
