What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Weekend CT Technologist position at OSU Medical Center?
The incumbent must be a graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology and be registry eligible. ARRT registry is preferred. This position is accountable for operating the CT scanner, transportation of patients to and from the department and handling telephone scheduling of inpatients and outpatients. The incumbent is responsible with calling the physician with report of the exam. Must be able to start an IV line to administer contrast fluid. Must be able to handle patient support equipment, i.e. IV pump, O2, etc. The incumbent helps clean rooms, helps order supplies, transmit images to the PACS,, assist physicians with invasive procedures, provides basic patient care, and some light clerical work. Must be available for 24-hour call back with 45 minute response time.
The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's competency plan.
