The Oswego County Health Department has an immediate opening for a Public Health Educator responsible for providing and managing community-wide public health education programs that help individuals, families, and health professionals. Responsibilities include participating in the development, review, and implementation of Public Health Emergency Preparedness policies and activities and may also administer fiscal resources for health education and other programs.
Qualifications: Master's degree in public health or health education; OR bachelor’s degree in health science, health education, public health, health promotion, community health, or health communications; OR bachelor’s degree in education, nursing, epidemiology, wellness and fitness, or nutrition and one year of experience in health education; OR bachelor's degree in marketing, human services, social work, or psychology and two years of experience in health education.
Permanent appointment to this position requires successful completion of the civil service examination.
Pay Rate: $22.47 per hour plus competitive benefit package including: health, life, dental and vision insurance; NYS Retirement; and Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
