Job Summary:
Oversight of the fiscal, programmatic, and clinical aspects of the ACT Team. Provides clinical treatment, psychosocial rehabilitation, and community support services to those with chronic and persistent mental illness. Services are designed to promote recovery by improving psychiatric symptoms, preventing relapse, teaching skills, providing direct assistance and securing community resources necessary for successful functioning in work, school, home, social relationships, while maintaining them in the community setting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Directs day to day clinical operations
- Assures adequate staff coverage and scheduling
- Leads daily organizational meetings
- Provides direct care to clients a minimum of 50% of the time
- Directs and coordinates clinical admissions
- Coordinates the assessment and treatment planning process
- Recruits and hires staff
- Promotes a positive work culture amongst staff to ensure that they adhere to Oswego Healths standard of behavior
- Manages program budget
- Oversees the management of service dollars
- Supervises the medical record and overall record-keeping process
- Monitors quality assurance
- Develops and maintains the policies and procedures of the program
- Educates community resources regarding the ACT team and services it provides while maintaining positive working relationships with community resources
- Provides on call and crisis coverage
- Manages incident reporting when necessary
- Manages Utilization Review and oversees billing process
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities (Unit Specific):
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to interface effectively with employees, patients, and community.
- Ability to deal under stressful situations often dealing with patients, families, and subject to irregular hours and on-call responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
A masters degree in psychology, mental health counseling, social work, or nursing with the associated license or certificate if applicable. At least 3 years of direct clinical skills treating adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Requisite skills include knowledge of community resources, excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literacy. Experience in a management or supervisory capacity preferred. Must be knowledgeable of the ACT model with a willingness to promote and respect the philosophy.
Working Conditions:
- Requires attendance of seminars, workshops, conferences when appropriate.
- Requires attendance of staff and team meetings.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to perform prolonged or extensive standing, walking, and/or traversing.
- Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
- Comply with DOH requirements for annual health assessments and required immunizations.
Pay Range: $92,000-$102,000/annual
Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
