What are the responsibilities and job description for the UI/UX Consultant position at OTSI?
OTSI (Object Technology Solutions, Inc) has an immediate opening for SW Engineer, UX/UI Specialist at Fort Collins, CO and it’s a Long Term Contract position.
Job Description:
You are an experienced UX professional who seeks ways of succeeding and getting things done. The ideal candidate will welcome challenges and the opportunity to make significant contributions to making software better. You are a self-starter, an optimistic leader and genuinely enjoy getting stuff done.
As the UX lead for a fast-paced agile 1team, you will distill complex software systems and interactions into clearly defined user journeys. You design, implement, and continuously improve user experiences around the team's software products. You thrive when working at the intersection of design and engineering, understanding and translating between both disciplines. You employ processes, thoughtful and proven analytical techniques in concert with experience and intuition to establish clarity, identify customer pain points and potential solutions. You work iteratively, scientifically and use data to drive decisions, and at the same time identify problems via qualitative and experiential means.
As the ideal candidate, you are genuinely excited by learning about and discussing technology and design - and are not daunted by technically complex products. You are energized by working with a highly skilled and fast-paced team. You bring a friendly and helpful personality. You are empathetic, a great listener, and are highly aware of your biases and can calibrate your guidance accordingly. You easily transition between conversations with designers, engineers, stakeholders, and customers. You are versed in formal UX testing and design practices, as well as highly skilled in how and when to apply them to different situations.
In this role you will craft, lead, share, and support user experience efforts across the team, our products and at any point at which a customer interacts with our tools. You not only design the product experience, but help encourage a human-centered, design-first approach for the team. Lastly and very importantly, you have experience in working with an established set of guidelines and best practices provided by a central UX organization, while applying the same to the specific contexts in which you will design.
Responsibilities
Learn about our users, our technologies including hardware and software systems, organization, how we sell, and the context of how your experiences will be integrated by the team and consumed throughout the organization.
Collaborate with teammates, engineering, project stakeholders, and external customers to inform your designs.
Craft the story of your ideas and concepts into a message that others can rally behind. Use all means possible to concisely and effectively produce influential deliverables.
Rapidly whiteboard, wireframe, mockup, and prototype your ideas—and iterate often.
Communicate, present, negotiate and refine your messages to the people you work with to promote and gather insight for your designs.
Deliver and understand how to take your design to code and how it translates in the hands of users.
