General Description: Manages a clinic by supervising nurses and other personnel, scheduling, performing nursing duties, ensuring policy adherence, attending meetings, developing services, acting as a patient services advocate, and collaborating with other professionals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Personnel Supervision. Supervises 5 or more nurses. Coordinates and supervises the activities of nursing services and other medical personnel. Hires, trains, conducts performance appraisals, disciplines, and terminates employees.
- Scheduling. Plans and implements nursing personnel schedules. May plan schedules for other personnel, students, volunteers, etc.
- Nursing. Works as a Staff Registered Nurse when needed.
- Policy Adherence. Observes nursing care to ensure adherence to policy, and to ensure physicians' orders are strictly followed. Enhances adherence to clinical, project, program, or departmental policies and procedures.
- Meeting Attendance. Attends meetings and conferences. Conducts monthly Nurse staff meetings. May make presentations to committees, staff, etc.
- Service Development. Develops a variety of professional services for nursing care and/or project enhancements. Identifies gaps in services for nursing care and proposes solutions to problems identified.
- Patient Services Advocacy. Acts as a liaison and advocate for patient services or project participants.
- Collaboration. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide efficient quality patient care.
General Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements:
Education:Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN required; Master's level education preferred
Experience:3 years of experience as a professional nurse (RN) in the designated specialty
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required:Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures.
- Managerial skills sufficient for organizing, developing and supervising a department and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. Strong influence skills and ability to motivate others.
- Ability to maintain integrity and trust among leadership and staff
- Proven ability to manage a team of professionals and lead a departmental function
- Demonstrated business acumen. Demonstrated business understanding and ability to balance people/ organizational decisions with business considerations. Experience using metrics to drive decisions and working with external vendors.
- Must be a strategic thinker, self-motivated and have excellent problem solving and project management skills
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple high priority deliverables
- Knowledge of managerial functions such as budgets, statistical measures, report writing, performance improvement tools, etc.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office tools..
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Must able to prioritize and manage several tasks at one time
