Job Summary
The Lead Production Artist is responsible for leading and coordinating workloads for the other Production Artists on the team to ensure that they meet all client expectations. They will also create print files for output that can be cut and applied, or printed and mounted to a substrate themselves. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, placing client art to fit engineering drawings, modifying it if needed, and on occasion, creating art if none is supplied. They also conduct quality assurance to ensure the accuracy of the project. This position will be dedicated on-site at our client’s headquarters in Pittsburgh with the opportunity to work a few days remote each week.

Responsibilities
- Leads the dedicated team of production artists and assigns work daily to ensure on-time delivery, picking up work to complete as well
- Ensures processes and brand guidelines are understood and followed
- Works closely with Outform Account Project Managers and Print Buyers to insure instructions and specs are complete
- As needed, performs editing and prepares files for print production
- Works with colleagues on projects from concept through print, including file transfers, FTP access, online proofs, revisions, and updating status of projects
- Inspects jobs for accuracy before sending to client for final approval
- Maintains electronic records of work performed and job status
- Identifies and provide any training necessary for team members
- Reviews performance and recommends improvements, as necessary
- Must have at least 7 years of relevant experience
- Strong proficiency in Adobe’s Creative Cloud applications in a Mac OS environment Especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
- Must be skilled in pre-press, pre-production workflow and building files that meet print specifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of pre-flighting client supplied files
- Experience and knowledge of: Litho printing, Silk-screening, Digital printing, Mounting, Die-cutting, Assembly, Kitting preferred
- Experience with font management systems
- Familiar with large format printers to create protypes, models, and mock-ups
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to troubleshoot technical issues with files and/or escalate to ensure on time delivery
- Maintains a strong work ethic/driven by successful and proven results
