What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time School-Age Daycare Worker position at Outreach Kids?
LOOKING FOR A TEACHER WHO:
- wants to work about 20 hours per week (from 2-6 PM Monday - Friday).
- enjoys working with school-age children.
- Would have some flexibility for longer shift during field trips, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and provide care and relational interaction with children in a large-group setting.
- Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events suitable for children from 5-12 years old.
- Help prepare and serve meals and snacks under the USDA food program.
- Adhere to DHS guidelines for safety, care, and management of children - Identify behavioral problems and developing appropriate strategies to address them.
- Communicate with parents and provide updates on children’s progress.
- Collaborate with director, other teachers, parents and participate in regular meetings
- Maintain a tidy and orderly teaching space, including cleaning and sanitizing duties.
- Observe and understand students’ behavior/psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
- Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by pursuing continuing education.
SKILLS
- Preferred previous experience working with children from 5 to 11 years old.
- Clear criminal background history
- Strong conflict-resolution skills.
- Creative and energetic
- High moral values, etiquette, and discipline
CERTIFICATIONS:
- CPR certification (not required for hire)
- DHS Childcare fingerprint and background check (preferred, not required)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
