Interior Architect
The role of an Interior Architect (IA) is integral to the success of our interior design projects. IAs must be expertly skilled in taking design drawings and turning them into highly detailed construction sets that enable contractors to bring the design intent to life flawlessly.
Required Credentials
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
- 3-5 years’ experience in residential architectural drafting
- 2-4 years’ experience working with / developing design concepts
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft office
- Proficiency in related design software, such as Photoshop and Sketch Up
- Understanding of materials, means, and methods
Required Skillset
- Developed, bespoke, and innovative design sense
- Strong technical and practical CAD skills with an understanding of architectural conventions, including floor plans, elevations, sections, RCP, electrical and millwork.
- Highly skilled in time management, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
- Understanding of different trades, how they interact, and the order of operations when multiple trades are involved
- Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities
Drafting, Schedules, and Presentation
The Interior Architect will produce architectural working drawings including all details for architectural interior projects. This includes millwork, tile, elevations, plans, sections and RCPs.
The IA will maintain and organize project files, schedules and specifications.
The Interior Architect will help with client presentations, whether that is through Photoshop, hand drawings, or working directly with rendering company to ensure the client can grasp the design.
Design
The Interior Architect will collaborate with Lead Designer and design team by understanding the design intent/concept and generate drawings that enable different trades actualize the design. Additionally, the IA will contribute to / develop / elevate the design concept through architectural detailing. This will require a close, synergistic working relationship with the Senior Interior Designer and design team as a whole.
The IA will join the rest of the design team on periodic site visits and assist in some construction oversight – specifically making sure the contractors are actualizing the design details set forth in the drawings. This will require the IA to demonstrate their fluency with basic residential building materials, details and construction techniques.
The Interior Architect will actively participate in design meetings with the client, contributing ideas/insight, providing explanation, and helping to “sell” the design details when necessary.
