This position is ESSENTIAL to the growth of Ovando. The main role for the Business Development Manager is to establish Ovando in the South Florida market as premier floral and event design company. This person will actively and aggressively develop and implement sales initiatives and strategies to cultivate working relationships with potential clients, event planners and to be on the recommended list for venues. The Business Development Manager will serve as the key point of contact for clients.

The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and most importantly: be a Sales Wizard! Have the know-how to search for a potential prospect, nurture that relationship, and ultimately close the deal. Ultimately, a successful Business Development Manager should know luxury sales and have the experience in sales growth.

This is a salaried position with commission.

Responsibilities Include

  • Actively and consistently research new targets and sources of business.
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date inquiries list and all targeted sales lists.
  • Consistently identify sales prospects and make contact with appropriate representative of the company, write proposals / estimates / inspirations boards, and event work sheet, etc.
  • Independently handle small-scale events as needed, which includes up-selling product and closing sales.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Work with new clients and vendors to frame business opportunities with revenue and pricing structures.
  • Create alliances and cross promotion opportunities with new and existing clients and vendors.
  • Handle all inquiries and screen clients.
  • Perform everyday a wide range of administrative tasks as required and needed to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Calendar maintenance and coordination for sales related activities.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and design team.
  • Identify and resolve promptly client concerns, issues and questions.
  • Attend networking events.
  • Work with Founder/Creative Director to prospect and jointly close new business.

Skills

  • 5 years experience in similar sales role.
  • LOVE for the “Sales pursuit”.
  • Posses excellent networking skills.
  • Ability to independently develop and implement sales strategies.
  • Excellent follow up, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent at presenting information (thorough, accurate and complete).
  • Strong decision-making, logical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experienced and committed to providing outstanding customer service to a sophisticated clientele.
  • Flexibility and adaptability and possesses a high tolerance for an occassional stressful environment.
  • Goal and results-driven.
  • Highly proficient with all Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook).
