Posting Close Date: 12/31/2022 Ovintiv’s Texas Operations group has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geophysicist to join our team. This position will be based in our Denver, CO office. Responsibilities Experienced in 2D and 3D seismic interpretation from basin to field level. Exposure to seismic data acquisition and processing techniques and their impacts to the interpretation process. Convert seismic time interpretations to depth for drilling execution. Generate seismic attribute volumes, pre- and post-stack inversions for improved reservoir characterization, drilling execution, and production drivers. Responsible for microseismic data gathering interpretation and integration into geologic modeling and reservoir performance. Responsible for induced seismicity analysis for potential hazards, risk assessments and completion efficiency. Interacting internally and externally regarding induced seismicity and risks. Interacting with geophysicists, geologists, engineers, and petrophysicists to delineate reservoir complexities and improve Ovintiv developments. Qualifications M.S. degree preferred in Geophysics, Geology, or related field. Eight or more years of recent seismic analysis experience (geomechanics, inversion, modeling, attribute & processing) in unconventional resource plays. Expertise in IHS Kingdom, Spotfire, Hampson-Russell, Petrel or similar geophysical software. Experience in working on a multi-disciplined team. Must have good oral, written, and formal presentation skills. Adept at interaction with a variety of contacts, internal and external, including management, industry, governmental agencies and academia. In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Ovintiv's reasonable estimate of the hiring compensation range for this role. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $175,000 - $210,000 USD Compensation may vary and will be determined by the geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
