Owen's Market is looking for a full-time cashier who has a friendly personality and enjoys working with the public. As a team-oriented company, we seek an individual who can be flexible with work hours. Schedule consists of both day and evening shifts. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and displays a positive attitude when interacting with customers and employees
- Duties include:
- Performing basic math functions to collect payments and make change
- Operate registers, scanners, gas pumps, lottery, and credit card terminals
- Memorize product locations throughout the store and be able to direct customers or make suggestions
- Bag purchases for customers
- Maintain neat work area and perform light cleaning duties as needed
- Maintain accurate cash drawer, tally funds when required during a shift, and produce transaction reports
- Qualifications and Skills necessary:
- The ideal candidate should have cashier experience from customer service, retail, or cash handling from retail industry.
- Mathematical skills and the ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately
- Knowledge of register operation, including cash, credit cards, and register receipts
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, and standing for long periods of time
- Positive, helpful attitude toward customers including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately
