PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Distribution and Warehousing Leader is responsible for the evolution and transformation of the Warehouse Network in terms of new sites, transitions, consolidations, and closings, plus the development of regional capabilities in North America. This person serves as a center of expertise for our operations globally and is accountable for the systems, processes and talent capability required to deliver a distribution and warehouse strategy that meets business needs. The successful candidate will Encourage a culture of innovation, utilizing technology and data, which allows US distribution operations to deliver on its promise towards our business units and customers.
The Distribution and Warehousing Leader will act as a thought leader and trusted business partner, building trusted relationships through excellent communication skills and an action-oriented approach. The successful candidate will be highly data-driven in their approach to building and executing a strategy. We are also looking for someone who has demonstrated leadership abilities, holding the team accountable to deliver on high-priority projects. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and instinctive, with a natural ability to solve problems and seek new information

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowing Our Businesses and their Strategies
- Build relationships with functional decision makers and business-facing leadership, including business leadership teams, and finance partners to drive cost reductions, working capital effectiveness, and EBIT.
- Understand the strategic direction of the company's businesses and align functional strategies to support and enhance business results. Strive to eliminate risk on profitability and create a clear view for businesses regarding the impact of the decision on operational effectiveness.
- Develop strategic relationships and supplier relationship management programs with key partners.
- Drive and influence decisions through strong leadership and influence skills in our global and matrix environment.
Developing and Executing Strategy
This role has the ability connect the dots between business unit strategies, Real Estate strategy and M&A priorities. We expect this role to look for standardization, simplification, operational efficiencies, and cost optimization.
- This role responsible for four strategy streams: 1) 3PL strategy and consistently applied contracting and implementation, 2) layout optimization of inbound and outbound material flows, 3) develop, implement and standardized technologies, automation and reporting across the network 4) Develop the road map to support our corporate targets in sustainability
- Leads with a clear view of where the business, industry, and organization need to be in 3 to 5 years and leads, develops, and implements strategies to align with those of the function and businesses. Develops a deep understanding of the industries and markets, as well as key drivers and influences on those industries and markets.
- Balances short and long-term strategies while keeping a forward-looking, long term, view of key trends and activities which will significantly impact the overall global enterprise.
- Evolution leadership for how technology is leveraged to drive transformation within the supply chain management (SCM) teams utilizing an integrated approach:
- Partnership with Leadership Team peers to drive the prioritization, business case development, and outcomes associated with transformative process and systems changes.
- Project management skills associated w/ leading cross functional teams (IT, development resources, SAP, etc.)
Leading and Developing Talent
- Ensure strategic organizational design for how logistics for SCM is performed, staffed, aligned and delivered
- Drive SCM Leadership Team partnership, aligning SCM resources, and ensure a robust talent agenda
- Attract, develop and retain talent for the functional organizations to achieve its objectives
- Create an environment where talent is revered and is developed through effective performance management and talent assessment
- Challenge the organization to evolve higher levels of value and contribution through clearly defined objectives and prioritization of work.
Leading in the Supply Chain Function
- Serve as a strong contributing member of the Logistics and Real Estate leadership team, work to connect the work of the functional organization within the Supply Chain organization.
- Strive to strengthen and add value to the larger Supply Chain organization through active relationships. Leads the global warehousing and distribution safety counsels for the enterprise.
- Display and inspire teamwork across business segments and departments
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives
- Teach functional acumen and concepts to assure sound decision making and value creation at every level of the business
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in business or related field of study required; Masters-level degree preferred
- 7 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, warehouse management, or related field
- Proven people leadership abilities in a global organization
- Experience in creating and implementing strategies at a comprehensive and global level within a corporate environment
- Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally; estimated travel 20% or less
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- APICS certifications or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of Lean and CI tools
- Working knowledge of SAP 6.0
