Summary
Job Summary
Provides direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician. Responsible for a variety of clinical and administrative tasks related to imaging and scheduling services.
Job Responsibilities
- Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for review.
- Performs plan of care interventions.
- Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
- Communicates effectively with insurance companies, external agencies, patients, physicians and team members.
- Assists providers with a variety of procedures, including the management of drains and procedural site care.
- Orders and schedules patient appointments, and diagnostic testing/procedures.
- Prepares patients for medical procedures as appropriate.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
- No experience required
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse and eligible to practice in the state of Kentucky required upon hire OR
- ROC and RT(R) - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky and Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire AND
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position
