We are looking for an IT Help Desk Technician to join our Kansas City team!
Responsibilities may include
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users in resolving hardware and software issues.
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripheral devices, and software applications.
- Set up and maintain user accounts and access rights in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the IT team to deploy and upgrade software applications across the organization.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity and security.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system backups and software updates.
- Train end-users on basic troubleshooting techniques and proper use of software and hardware.
- Monitor and respond to IT security incidents, including virus and malware detection and removal.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and obtain necessary support.
- Document and maintain accurate records of help desk activities, including issue resolutions and troubleshooting steps.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to provide proactive support and recommendations.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.
- Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and network troubleshooting principles.
- Proficiency in using and supporting Google Suite applications, AutoCAD, and Deltek (or similar project management/accounting software).
- Familiarity with network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
- Solid understanding of computer systems, including hardware components, operating systems, and software applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Familiarity with IT security best practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment.
