Position Description:

The Software Analyst (GitHub Version Control) is responsible for creating, editing, and tracking work within GitHub to collaborate with developers and testing teams.

Minimum/General Experience: 3 years utilizing GitHub; 1 year mentoring GitHub usage

Minimum Education: Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other related field

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

• Above average knowledge of GitHub functionality
• Experience setting up and maintaining repositories in GitHub
• Above average ability to troubleshoot in GitHub
• Above average ability to create and manage branch structures
• Experience creating pull requests
• Working knowledge and understanding of the documentation lifecycle in GitHub
• Excellent ability in mentoring and being a resource to a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with GitHub REST API (preferred)

Security: Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust

• U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident

Primary tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Oxley Enterprises®, Inc. mission, values, operating philosophy, products/services, processes, leadership system, organizational structure, and business strategy.
• Complete mandatory and development training and activities.
• Develop, document, and update processes and procedures.
• Support quality management and business development activities.

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

• Troubleshoots GitHub/Repository issues submitted by Developers
• Reviews and approves content committed by developers to insure proper structure of repositories
• Provisions users accounts with Max.gov or GitHub.com
• Maintains current user accounts to ensure security of repositories
• Creates/Clones project repositories
• Moves public repositories from public GitHub.com to government EPO account using Max.gov
• Uploads Patch Description documentation to document repositories
• Uploads All Manuals/Release Notes to document repositories
• Commits project source code and submit for code in flight
• Creates pull requests for project
• Create Master Branches with full descriptions
• Creates and manages child branches during the project life cycle
• Creates and manages VistA branches separate from Master branch
• Merges all Branches
• Reviews and maintains integrity of all branch structures
