What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller LCV position at OXY, Inc.?

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Controller - Oxy LCV based in Houston, TX.
The following are job duties expected of the Controller - Oxy LCV:
- Monthly close process including preparation and review of LCV financial statements for consolidated financial reporting, internal management reporting and for equity investors as needed, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial reporting
- Preparation and review of forecast and budget financial information
- Adhering to company sox controls, defining and mitigating risks as new business combinations are created
- Ownership of correct Legal entity setup, reporting and compliance setup for all business combinations
- Working closely with business unit leadership and corporate leadership teams supporting ad hoc requests for financial data associated with LCV business unit
- Supporting implementation of financial processes and systems to support the growing LCV business, including development of processes and financial policies unique to LCV
- Providing support and review of commercial agreements and other contracts, including closely working with Oxy's Technical Accounting department
- Supporting financial administration elements as needed by operations (e.g. cash forecasting, oversight of capital or expenditure requests (AFE's), supporting analysis associated with invoices and work orders, etc.)
- Working closely with other departments in designing and implementing processes and procedures, and gathering, analyzing and presenting financial data, including coordination with Oxy's Carbon Accounting team for emission and carbon accounting data reported for compliance to the government and other company disclosures, tax and legal departments
- Overseeing coordination and support of audits or audit requests, including external financial statement audits, joint venture partner audits and audits supporting project funding
- Providing leadership and direction to a growing finance team supporting the low carbon venture business unit, including recruiting, training, development, and performance management.
- Oversee government grant accounting compliance.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related degree
- Minimum 7-15 years accounting experience in oil and gas industry, preferably with exposure to upstream or marketing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and adhere to competing deadlines
- Self-motivated and strong work ethic
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Independent and proactive learner and thinker with the ability to problem solve
- Deep understanding of accounting business processes, master data structure and system requirements including how they integrate with other parts of the broader organization
- Takes accountability and strives to increase results and continuously improve
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, rapidly-developing area of the company
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, business intelligence and reporting tools, such as Power BI, SAP Business Warehouse, and other Microsoft 365 tools
- In-depth knowledge of SAP required
- Allegro and Onestream experience is beneficial
Desired Qualification:
- Experience working in Upstream Oil and Gas or Marketing
- Experience in controller or financial analyst role, with responsibility for preparing financial statements and forecast/budget information
- Certified Public Accountant
- Familiarity with emerging low-carbon business environment
