We are looking for a Surface Planning Manager that will support the ORCM (Onshore Resources & Carbon Management) Team based in Houston, TX. Surface Planning Manager is a highly business engaged leader with deep understanding of the core bottom-line drivers of the organization and the link with the operational decisions resulted from working in a cross functional team environment at every business unit the Surface Planning Organization supports. Surface Planning manager is also responsible for maintaining the pace and flexibility of the plans proposed by the Development teams and to highlight any potential constraints within the plans including but not limited to well pads, location optimization and directional trajectories taking into account lease boundaries, surface hazards, rough terrain, no-go zones, development goals, well spacing, operational constrains, cost, troublesome formations and more. Essential Job Duties: • Assess and ensure project completion and success within the Surface Planning cycle. • Ensure healthy interactions and strategies between Surface Planning Cycle, Development Teams, Execution teams and PMO teams. • Identify and plan development well locations and incorporate results into model interpretations. • Lead periodic reviews with development teams and management • Manage people career development and available resources. • Ensure 100% trainability on SP team Individua Contributors. • Recommend modifications and/or investments to upgrade systems, to optimize development strategies and reduce operating costs. • Assist in the financial forecasting and development performance reviews. • Set goals and priorities for the Surface Planning group, ensure they are practical and impactful. • Work closely with multi-discipline teams to incorporate regulatory compliance, offset well data, geologic models, seismic information, petrophysical data, production, facilities and engineering data into DSWP. • Work with multi-discipline teams to evaluate surface and subsurface assets on a field-wide basis. • Evaluate and recommend optimal well pads, location optimization and directional trajectories taking into account lease boundaries, surface hazards, rough terrain, no-go zones, development goals, well spacing, operational constrains, cost, troublesome formations and so on. • Define and support integrated field development plans that achieve operational and financial success.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: • BS degree in Engineering or Geology with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy industry • Strong experience in well planning, industry standards and anti-collision analysis. • Ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) effectively with team members, other departments, and working interest partners to define, and execute value adding plan. • Demonstrated ability or capacity to use engineering skills to solve problems and identify enhancement opportunities. • Exposure to Permian Basin operations and field development • Experience with Arc Products (ArcMap, ArcGIS) • Understand key economic drivers and financial basis behind scenario development analysis.
