Hours vary and will include some weekends. All staff are required to work Sundays during football season.
A Wingstop cook is responsible for preparing and cooking various types of chicken wings, tenders, patties, and other menu items according to Wingstop recipes and standards. The cook must follow food safety and sanitation guidelines while handling, preparing, and cooking the food.
Some Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and cooking chicken wings tenders and patties as well as other menu items according to Wingstop’s recipes and standards.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines while handling and preparing food
Maintaining a clean and organized work area
Communicating effectively with kitchen and store staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation
Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
Ensuring that all food items are properly labeled and stored to prevent contamination
Operating kitchen equipment such as fryers, ovens, and grills safely, following all safety requirements, and using all safety equipment
Cleaning equipment per schedule, filtering oil according to the procedure, keeping a clean safe working environment, and light janitorial duties
Adhering to Wingstop policies and procedures, including those related to food preparation, safety, and cleanliness
Must be able to lift 50 pounds safely and ask for team lifting assistance when needed.
In addition to cooking skills and food handling, a Wingstop cook should possess strong communication and teamwork skills, as they will be working closely with other kitchen staff members and store staff to ensure that all orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner. They should also be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and be able to multitask effectively.
