Pablo & Rusty's Coffee Roastery is a Sydney-based wholesale coffee roastery with a growing e-commerce community and, importantly, a Sydney CBD flagship Cafe space. Our SYD CBD space is known for exceptional coffee, seasonal and forward-thinking menus, and fantastic customer service!

Our SYD CBD space is busy, often packed with both local and international customers, those seeking a quick takeaway brew, and others looking for a unique full-service cafe experience. We have a reputation for exceptionally creative, seasonal, and delicious food paired with fantastic coffee. We also offer a limited wine list focusing on local, natural, low-intervention wines, along with limited beer offerings all sourced with a similar ethos and approach.

We are looking for a passionate and fast-paced Casual Cook to join our dedicated and hard-working 161 Cafe Team. Our team is full of passionate professionals who thrive in our fast-paced Cafe scene!

This role requires you to be fast on your feet, able to multitask, and not afraid of hard work. You will value the use of technology in an evolving forward-thinking business. You will understand what it means to be a team player and will take delight in being part of a forward-thinking team of Kitchen and Hospitality professionals. 

This role will suit a total foodie and someone who can handle a busy modern cafe, efficient quality food preparation with the drive to see the food side of the business grow and thrive. Success in this role will require total accuracy and efficiency.

What we are looking for

• Ability to work in a fast-paced cafe
• A varied and creative culinary skillset across a range of cookery disciplines
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a café or restaurant cook
• The ability to work in a team and support your teammates
• Knowledge of food safety essential
• Be passionate about food and café culture
• Ambitious and determined to exceed expectations
• Be cool under pressure
• A strong work ethic

Your duties and responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day requirements including stock ordering, rotation and cleanliness
• Execute successful simple/modern cafe menu for customers to enjoy
• Purchasing of products and goods from local suppliers where possible
• Meeting targets such as cost of good sold and sales
• Ensuring prep is done on time, food is of high quality and delicious and customers are served in a timely fashion
• Develop and follow set procedures for Start of Day and End of Day kitchen procedures;
• Meet compliance necessities – FSS, WHS
