This position is responsible for estimating materials and labor required to modify containers, mobile/modular buildings based on customer provided drawings and information.  Will also be responsible for providing design layouts and sketches based on customer information.  Once order is placed , will then manage container modification projects through shop to exceed agreed upon targets.  Must be able to lead a project to provide superior project service and completion in a profitable fashion.  Must be able to  thoroughly understand and communicate the objectives while also performing many key activities related to core processes.   Must be able to effectively lead, develop, and manage a cross-functional team consisting mainly of vendors and subcontractors.  Must be able to present Pac-Van in a professional manner in order to develop and build profitable, long-term customer relationships.  Work on a regular basis with corporate resources to ensure effective and efficient execution of project plans and completion to meet or acceed customer expectations and project acceptance.   Communicate on a regular basis with Branch Management regarding project performance, status and expectations.
 
Project Results:
  • Develop and execute action plans to meet determined targets
  • Meet or exceed timely project completion and acceptance
  • Meet project profitability and cost control targets
  • Provide periodic management reporting
 
Project Process Management:
  • Provide technical and project costing support
  • Direct building manufacturing process
  • Direct permitting process and vendor management
  • Develop coordinated project plan and schedule
  • Execute project plan
  • Insure project completion and customer acceptance
 
Branch Fleet Operations:
  • Manage major fleet repair, modification and refurbishment 
  • Maintain modular fleet condition at all times
 
Customer Satisfaction:
  • Manage & communicate customer expectations
  • Support customer warranty period
  • Resolve customer complaints
  • Obtain customer acceptance and project sign off
  • Develop and build loyal, profitable customer relationships
 
Job Site Requirements:
Obtain and adhere all customer expected job site requirements of project (i.e. safety, hours, clean up, etc.)
 
Project Operations:
  • Coordinate transportation and site installation and services
  • Set and manage service standards 
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships
  • Maintain project site with a professional appearance
 
Product Awareness:
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of product technology, product availability and installation techniques and innovations 
 
Safety:
Ensure all project personnel, vendors and subcontractors follow safety requirements
 
Requirement:
  • Duties are mainly in an office setting.  Occasionally outside with exposure to the elements of the weather
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, talking and hearing
  • Must have visual, physical and technical ability to independently use a telephone, computer, fax machine and photocopier
  • Communicate both in writing and verbally
