Logistics Supervisor

Overview

PacBio is seeking a talented, driven, well-rounded and experienced Logistics Supervisor to assist with shipping our instruments and consumables worldwide. This position would also support the stockroom and the various warehouse activities in Menlo Park, CA. The ideal candidate possesses the skill and experience necessary to play a role in helping develop and implement a scalable global distribution network for the company. They must also have a passion for PacBio relevant technology, experience in all aspects of domestic and international shipping requirements, stockroom processes, strong interpersonal skills for dealing with all levels of the organization, and a dedication to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all capital equipment shipments and support the overall strategy, metrics, and processes to implement an optimized global logistics network. This can also include our consumables and spare parts.
• Work closely with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Develop and implement strategies for improving efficiency, customer service, and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels of instruments at 3PL’s and adjust stock levels as needed to ensure no stock outs and quick delivery turnaround.
• Work with the stockroom on various warehouse activities (i.e., shipping, receiving, cycle counting, etc.)
• Perform assigned duties in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure all warehouse and inventory control activities are executed to meet company business schedules and budgets.
  
  
  

Position Requirements

• At least 3 years of prior experience in a supervisory role, in logistics or related field preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Experience with arranging transportation & white glove delivery of capital equipment worldwide.
• Experience in shipping cold chain temperature-sensitive materials including dangerous goods.
• Solid knowledge of incoterms and export documentation requirements.
• Large- and small-company experience, ideally in a rapid-growth manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in successfully executing job duties accurately and efficiently and contributing to process improvements.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Routinely engages in independent thought and judgment in analyzing problems and recommending methods and techniques for executing job duties in a more cost-effective manner.
  
  
  

Depending on the role, some employees may be required to be 100% onsite.

Salary Range

$97,400.00 - $146,200.00
