As our Research Engineering Manager you will be responsible for identifying and validating new and emerging technologies that will improve the efficiency and performance of company products, manage and maintain R&D development roadmap and align activities with company and corporate long-term goals, and own and influence at least one R&D core competency as set by goals and objectives.
DUTIES:
- Foster a culture of innovation, ideation, and creativity within the group and within the company
- Establish priorities for group’s workload consistent with management and departmental objectives.
- Apply for and obtain funding including grants to fund relevant research and development activities
- Manage active projects to meet current requirements regarding timing, results, budgets, and reporting
- Manage the activities of the Research Engineering group on a day-to-day basis
- Hire and train new engineering personnel.
- Generate University Senior Capstone project packages, manage student team and liaison between university and company management groups.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS and MS/MBA degrees required; PE preferred.
- 10 years applicable engineering and/or research experience with minimum 2 years’ experience supervising or leading an engineering or technical group, preferably within PACCAR.
- Demonstrated ability to find and evaluate new technologies and ideas.
- Grant writing experience desired.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to provide group leadership and management of human resource issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
