Pacific Eye Institute is currently hiring for a Full-Time Clinic Technician.

Position Summary:
The Clinic Technician is responsible for performing measurements and tests that provide the physician with the information needed to arrive at a diagnosis and to prescribe treatment. This position may see patients for any PEI provider within their skill-set.

Location/Schedule:
This non-exempt position will work Monday-Friday with shifts varying from early morning to early evening. The position is located in Hesperia, CA and may require travel to other work sites as needed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Greet all patients and guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank others with genuine appreciation. Treat each patient with respect by greeting them by name, introducing yourself, and ensuring that the patient understands what will happen during the exam.
  • Obtain complete patient histories including chief complaint, past ocular/medical history, family medical/ocular history and history of allergies and medications.
  • Perform ophthalmologic tests including visual acuity, applanation tonometry, pachymetry, visual fields, corneal topography, OCTs, lensometry, and other tests as directed within the prescribed timeline.
  • Assist with patient pre- and post-op counseling, procedure set up, and performing in office procedures. Obtain consents when needed.
  • Calibrate diagnostic equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Instrument sterilization as needed.
  • Participate in trainings and meet requirements for Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) measures, HIPAA compliance and Protected Health Information.
  • Ensure opening and closing of special testing rooms. Maintain stocking of exam lanes and maintain order in work areas.
  • Ensure company COVID-19 protocols are followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one year of experience in Ophthalmology or Optometry setting.

Certificates, Licensees and/or Registrations Required:
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certification Preferred
