Pacific Rim Billing is a growing chiropractic billing service located in Tigard, Oregon. We are recruiting for a Chiropractic Medical Biller with a strong emphasis on professionalism. Maintains strict confidentiality, ethical conduct, and professional etiquette. Post insurance payments to patient accounts Checking eligibility and benefits verification for treatments. Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software. Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe. Checking each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance. Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments. Researching and appealing denied claims. Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts. Setting up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.
Requirements:
- 1 years medical billing experience preferred
· Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology and general medical office procedures including HIPAA regulations
· Knowledge of insurance processes and billing guidelines/regulations require
· Experience with billing software
· Medical Records
Essential Functions:
- Maintain strict confidentiality, ethical conduct, and professional etiquette.
- Accurately post insurance payments to patient accounts
- Checking eligibility and verifying benefits
- Effectively resolve rejected claim issues and work denials by re-submitting claims, contacting appropriate insurance departments, or drafting effective appeals letters to insurance companies
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using Medisoft and Advanced MD
- Supports providers and clinic managers with admin functions related to billing, tracking of services and required clinical documentation
- Answering clinic and patient phone calls pertaining to assigned accounts
- Fulfilling medical records requests
- Utilizes aging accounts receivable reports for follow up on unpaid claims or patient payments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS coding for chiropractic medicine
- Proficient use of computers including Microsoft Office applications
- Skilled in 10-key by touch and keyboarding
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Successfully work with minimal supervision, independently, as well as in a collaborative team setting
- Work in a changing environment with effective time management, ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of Commercial, Workers’ Compensation, and Motor Vehicle Insurance
- Ability to identify, research, and resolve credit balances, missing payments, and unposted cash as it pertains to billing account follow-up
Benefits:
· Pay: $ 17.00 - $ 20.00 per hour depending on experience
