As the Payroll Leader you will lead the development of systems and standard operating procedures, and streamline processes that ensure Pacific Seafood’s payroll finances are handled responsibly and disbursed timely. You will partner with the Director, Payroll and Benefits to ensure compliance, sound analysis and reporting, and reconciliation of payroll department functions. You will be responsible for auditing payroll data, creating reports, optimizing our current HRIS system to build efficiencies, and backfilling when needed.
As a team member, you are adept at building positive relationships across multiple departments, working collaboratively to communicate tasks, implement changes, and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.
- Identify, research, recommend, and implement payroll processes and system enhancements to build efficiencies and continually improve payroll functions.
- Collaborate with the Director, Payroll and Benefits to resolve identified payroll issues including federal, state, and local regulations, timekeeping, accrual banks, etc.
- Partner with the Director, Payroll and Benefits to support departmental and company wide initiatives and assist with special projects related to the payroll function.
- Lead in ensuring all payroll systems, processes, and procedures are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Create and maintain payroll-related content for Team Member Services including all company and location specific notices, policies, and procedures.
- Perform audits of the payroll system and data to find inefficiencies and errors in employee information, timesheets, accruals, etc.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for designated locations, including calculating, inputting, and correcting work hours for hourly and salary employee, and properly inputting deductions and additional pay.
- Maintain and reconcile up-to-date payroll records for all employees to ensure accuracy of data.
- Provide high-caliber customer service to all employees and external stakeholders by responding to inquiries regarding complex payroll and system related issues.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience supporting payroll processing, functions, and systems in a multi-state, multi-location organization
- Experience using UKG Core and/or Dimensions or similar HRIS
- High Proficiency in MS Excel
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field.
- 1 years of project/process lead experience
- Knowledge of Canadian wage and hour, garnishment, and payroll tax regulations at the federal and provincial level
- American Payroll Association CCP certification
Pay Range:
$26.12 - $35.27 per hour
