About this opportunity
This is a Night shift role with hours 11:45pm to 8am.
Ensuring efficient running of all technical aspects of the relevant shift. This includes cycle time performance, die changes within allocated time, assisting other technicians on the shift and general plant efficiency.
Report to Technical Manager. Primary objective is to ensure daily objectives are reached, and by reinforcing our processes and standards.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
· Assist the Shift Technicians and relevant Apprentices to ensure their daily tasks are completed quickly and efficiently
· Ensure Technical team activities and resources are planned for the greatest efficiency
· Support and assist the Shift Production team
· Ensure accurate and effective communication across the shifts, e.g., Shift Hand-over documentation and meetings
· Provide general support for the other Shift Technicians
· Manage and control product quality processes in line with the Quality Management system to ensure quality and cycle times are maintained
· Ensure accurate and effective reporting upon shift KPI’s, e.g., downtime etc.
· All procedures are understood and followed
· Ensure tools and equipment are maintained to provide accurate performance and minimal downtime
· Ensure accurate communication to Maintenance team on equipment fault or processing difficulties
· Assist with the development and implementation of plans to meet target KPI’s
· Assist with the training of the technical team
· Ensure adequate resources and consumables are available
· Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies
· Always strive to achieve high standards
· Be available for after hours consultation, and occasional overtime and weekend work
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
· Plastics processing skills.
· Machine/tool troubleshooting skills.
· Understanding of QA procedures.
· Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
· Awareness of AS/NZ ISO 9000 Standard requirements.
· Staff supervision experience.
Preferred:
· Tertiary qualifications in Plastics
· Trade Qualifications
· Tertiary Supervisory/Leadership qualifications
