72 miles east of Atlanta, Athens is a city in northeast Georgia. It's known for its antebellum architecture. It marks the start of the state's Antebellum Trail of historic Civil War towns. The T.R.R. The Evergreen Packaging Athens Carton Converting Facility is located in Athens, Georgia, which is also home to the University of Georgia and is approximately an hour from the city of Atlanta and its cosmopolitan amenities. Opened in 1951 and employing 163 team members, the facility ships over two billion gable top cartons annually. Athens prints and die cuts refrigerated gable top cartons for a variety of global brands found in retail groceries throughout the US.

General Activity:
Responsible for implementing process improvement projects within the business. Facilitate change management and lead subject matter experts to increase customer satisfaction levels and business productivity using process improvement methodology and tools. The position requires basic statistics, comparative analysis, computer literate and working with teams/people that may not have experience in process measurement. Responsible for the development of a process improvement program that will show measurable results in process efficiency, customer satisfaction and financial savings in all areas of the organization. The successful candidate will have some lean manufacturing in their background and be open to leadership opportunities.
Not necessarily looking for the classical process improvement manager, but rather a hands on team member looking for the next great opportunity.
Essential Functions:
Implement process improvement projects within the business to improve business results and increase customer satisfaction.
Take total responsibility for projects assigned, create timelines, and manage all program elements including proactive communications regarding initiatives. Keep management within Leadership & Career Development informed.
Work with team members to create open communication, share information and knowledge, and maintain a positive working environment. Work on other programs and projects in Leadership as time and the business dictate.
Facilitate change management and lead subject matter experts to increase customer satisfaction levels and business productivity using process improvement methodology and tools.
Work with Finance to quantify, document and monitor financial benefits of improvement projects.
Establish control systems to maintain the gains achieved. These systems include financial, quality and business control.
Deliver and help write training programs to support continuous improvement.
Mentor/coach/support other Business Improvement Leaders and management through share groups, facilitation and project planning.
Support process improvement initiative metrics by providing reports and information on project status and results as required.
Be flexible in leading a shift of hourly team members toward safety, quality, waste, and throughput goals when leadership is on vacation.

Associates or BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical Engineering preferred or related experience.
- Ability to work with production data, capacity limitations, inventory control, and conversion factors, etc.

General knowledge of manufacturing process including machine output capabilities and limitations in each department.
- Ability to direct and coordinate the efforts of others.

Good PC skills in Word and Excel.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to make accurate decisions in a timely manner.

5 to 15 years of manufacturing experience ideally in a high volume-manufacturing environment.

Previous experience managing manufacturing, quality or operations in a leadership role is preferred.

Computer literate.

Able to work in unstructured environment to identify problems and drive change within the organization.
