Macfadden, a PAE company, is seeking a Buy-In Manager for the USAID Global Development Lab’s Acceleration and Competitions Execution Support (ACES) program. This will be a full time position based in Washington, DC.
The Buy-In Manager will be responsible for facilitating Missions engagement for USAID open innovation activities. This will also include managing contracts and buy-ins, management of sub-awards and contractor and relationship management with USAID staff. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience working on awards that support innovation, challenge and prize design, and support to innovators via acceleration services and capacity building.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Facilitating Missions engagement for USAID open innovation activities
- Contracts and grants management.
- Management and oversight of sub-awards;
- Building relationships and engaging across multiple technical sectors
- High-touch approach to customer service and client relations
Required Qualifications
The Buy-In Manager is responsible for managing all buy-ins, from idea to implementation and close-out. The successful candidate shall have experience managing USAID activities, including contracts and buy-ins. S/he must have proven experience in customer service and client relations; management of sub-awards and contractors; and relationship management. Experience working on awards that support is preferred.
- Proven expertise in the design, implementation, and management of open innovation programs, including building and supporting teams on the scope, research, design, and implementation of hackathons, prizes, challenges, and Grand Challenges for Development.
- 10 years’ experience with USAID; knowledge and/or experience with USAID/DDI/ITR a plus;
- Knowledge and relationships with global networks of local technical assistance providers linked to innovation and acceleration services.
- Experience developing external engagement and communications campaigns related to open innovation programs.
